Kaia now crawls. A lot. And quickly! She took her first few movements the day after her 9 month mark, and after that she just took off. She is still not really into standing or pulling herself up, but we're fine with that, as she gets into enough trouble as it is. Kaia has a huge love of electrical cords, and she will sniff one out from miles away. Pretty much everything is unplugged at our place right now. She also loves anything electronic, especially the alarm clock. It will keep her entertained for ages, and woe is the person who tries to take it away once she has it!
Kaia now has 4 teeth, 2 in the middle on the bottom, and one middle and one side one on the top. Another love is biting...ouch!
In terms of eating...we do love our finger food! Food that was previously rejected will now be eaten, as long as she can feed herself. Green peas are now a favorite, amazingly. Half of what she 'eats' tends to end up in her (scant) hair or on the floor. It's rather like watching Cookie Monster shove a cookie into his mouth, pretend to eat, and then have it fall out all over the place. Kaia also has a newfound love of eggs, preferably scrambled.
Other fun activities include playing with the cat toys (Kaia likes to take a toy mouse, toss it, and then crawl after it), chewing on shoes when Mummy isn't looking, and pulling out the cats' fur if they let her get too close. Books are also fun, but she would rather chew on them than let me read them to her.
Games and activities include the still-loved peek-a-boo, along with waving hi/bye, tapping herself when asked 'Where's Kaia??' and giving High-5's is also endlessly amusing. Also, Kaia has started referring to me as 'Mama' on occasion, although she still mostly calls me 'NeNe'. She knows who Keila and Dada are, but mostly only yells 'DADA' when angry. Hehe!
Kaia has finally reached 8 kilos, although she's still little for her age. She makes up for it with her big personality though!
