Today's Post: Happy 7 Months, Kaia!

Kaia is 7 months old today! She's been quite active in the last month, too.
Kaia can now mostly sit on her own, although she does still occasionally get bored or tired and let herself flop over. She can also lean all the way over on her front or side, and then sit back up from that position. Her stomach muscles are getting quite strong!
Kaia's first tooth or teeth (I can't quite tell if it's one or two yet) have finally poked through her bottom gums as of yesterday. Which is wonderful, seeing as she's been knawing anything and everything out of irritation due to said teeth. Fingers, toys, clothing, bib, everything has been chewed lately.
We aren't sleeping well at all since we've been back at Grandma's, but Kaia will take quite long naps if Mommy is holding her. We're hoping to get back into a steady sleep routine once we return to Japan.
Kaia is becoming more and more social, and she loves 'talking' to Keila. Keila will squeal, Kaia will laugh and squeal back, and this will repeat for at least a few minutes.
Kaia's other current obsession is beards! She's still having a bit of separation anxiety, but hand her to a man with a beard, and she will happily try to pull hair out for hours. Just ask Uncle Andrew. She also likes to pull out Mommy's long hair if it's not tied back.
We've started eating solid food, although  Kaia is proving to be somewhat picky about what she will eat. Rice cereal mixed with Mommy's milk: no. Green peas: no. Applesauce: no. Squash: not really. Fresh mango, yes; jarred mango, no way. Avocado: sometimes. Bananas: YES YES YES!!! Frozen bananas are a particular treat, probably because Kaia's gums are sore. She then gets frustrated and cries when she can't actually eat any of the frozen banana, so we have to have cold mushed banana mixed with some rice cereal ready.
I'm not sure how much Kaia weighs right now, although everyone is still commenting on how fat she is!
 Until 8 months...
